Bubblegum Plastic: English Summer cloud necklace

Bubblegum Plastic is where we talk about all the other fun stuff… where I try to think about more than just shoes!

I love cute little whimsical necklaces, especially from the talented folks on Etsy. When I was browsing around the other day, I saw this sweet cloud and rain necklace from Mixko.

The piece is about 4″ from the top of the little felted cloud to the bottom crystal raindrop.

Even though it is a raincloud, it’s a happy little cloud with sparkly blue raindrops. So it makes you smile!

Featured Shoe: Joules Posh Wellies

I was sifting through my Tumblr yesterday evening and came upon the most delightful wellies I’d ever seen.

The beautiful Brabourne Farm site had a post on a bunch of adorable wellies and these just stopped me in my tracks.

I adore cute wellies but these have to be my favorites so far. They weren’t referenced so I had to do a bit of sleuthing but I finally found them… and on sale too!

The red pair are shiny and striking.

But I love the navy with the blush bows.

But the Meadow green pair are my favorites. They all have the classic wellie shape and would look just adorable with dresses and tights in winter as well as cute summer shorts.

Wellies have become one of those “must have” shoes that every girl needs. These are a bit high for rainboots but not too crazy pricey, especially at the sale price. And if you wear them as fashion boots (not yard work boots) they will last a long time and add a fun, fanciful element to a dreary rainy day.

New Stuff, More Organization

So as you can see, I’m starting to make some changes around here. Interim things as I try to further define how I want the site structured. I’m open to all suggestions!

One thing I want to add are more categores for content. I have a schedule in progress that I will share with you but some key ares are:

Le Sigh… – These are some of daydreams and wishful thinking items.

Sparklers are some of my favorite people and where we get to see what makes them so cool. I plan on rounding up a ton more folks for this!

I’ve been adding my Shoe of the Day on Facebook. I’m going to add pictures and video here too!

Bubblegum Plastic is my other site but I think it may be more fun to add the cute accessories and other fun stuff here under their own banner. More of the fun in one place!

I hope you’ll be patient as I work my way through this. And please, give me any feedback or tips you can!

Three Years into the Journey

I hope everyone one had a wonderful weekend. And if you are in the US, I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July. This weekend marks another milestone for me… three years writing Shoe Daydreams!

I feel like, even though it is three years in, that I’m still finding my way and new things to write about. And best of all, connecting with new people all over the internet and around the world. Frankly, that is my favorite part and what keeps me coming back here.

I hope you all feel there is value and fun here as well. I want this to a happy space. A bit frivolous at times, often silly and, hopefully, a place to share ideas.

I’m not sure where exactly we will be going tomorrow but I want to have fun along the way. I want to hear more from you all as well, so don’t be shy about commenting or giving feedback!

I’m still excited to be here, so stay tuned for more!
