Kate Goes To Hollywood

Who is totally getting excited for the new The Great Gatsby movie? And who is totally banking on old Hollywood glamour, art deco and decadent flapper style being hot for Fall/Winter 2013?
Is it Charlotte Olympia? I think it is.
Oh, yes, the Charlotte Olympia Fall line is totally made for the Gatsby-loving lady. The heels are filled with deco design elements:
Lush curves, malachite patterns and opulent jewels, even a nod to the 20’s ladies themselves…
But Charlotte has not forgotten to add in the whimsical touches. It’s all show biz! I love the “film strip” sandals, the “Walk of Fame” star clutch and, of course, the lighted mirror clutch!
Her other accessories channel the Chrysler building, Clara Bow, and quite literally, Louise Brooks.
What a collection! Now we just need a fabulous supper club to whisk off to and a champagne fountain!
These are so ridiculous, I have to share – Grumpy Cat Pasties
Talk about mixed messages…”Hey, Beh-bey….NO”
I almost want to buy them.
I’ve been speaking with a lovely bride-to-be about what to splurge on for her wedding.
Besides the event items – for us it was good drinks, food and a live band – there are the items for you the bride.
Back when I got married, I had actually never thought I would get married, so I didn’t have a ton of ideas or preferences. I was probably so un-opinionated that I was annoying to my vendors. The dress I got was okay, I did my own make-up, I should have gone with a different hairstyle.
And I didn’t really get very special shoes.
If I were to do it again, or if we were to do a vow renewal, I would have more of a theme to tie the day together, I’d wear a completely different style of dress and I’d probably get a really bright pair of shoes.
I also think a pair of glittery heels would be fun too, especially in a great color. Miu Miu, does the best, of course.
Maybe I do need a vow renewal!
Who is excited to see more mint for Spring???
I love these classic heels and cute flats from Coach.
I have a pair of mint loafers but maybe I need to add to my mint footwear collection. I think all this grey weather has me craving minty greens!
January and February makes me feel so “grey”. It doesn’t help that my car is wrecked, the weather is drab and I have a crummy cold.
Some bright mint with a shiny gold bow would make me happy.
I love the freshness of these Kate Spade Karolina pumps. I wouldn’t mind tip-tapping into Spring with these.
I am totally smitten with these Minna Parikka Pfeiffer heels.
They are show girl sexy with a bit of flirty thrown in. Leopard print, curvy silhouette and heel, perky bunny ears. They’re just delightful and on sale!
These adorable heels also come in fuchsia as well as a platform version in black, grey and lilac.
Can’t you just see these saucing up a pencil skirt??? I. Love. Them.
Hello! Happy New Year!
It’s great to get back after the holidays and see the new Spring 2013 shoes starting to pop up here and there.
I was reminiscing about the Louboutin Un Bout plexi heels from this past summer. I’m still a bit sad to have missed out on these beauties.
And Gianvito Rossi has a plexi and suede version in a great cobalt blue for $625. Another yummy color.
I’ve seen tons of perspex heels out there as well. Looks like illusion is going to be big for 2013.
