Changing my Spots

It sounds crazy but I think it worked. A vintage leopard coat, teal v-neck and fishnet-y tights, red skirt an a House of Holland double necklace in tonal crystals.

I love to pair the tonal tights with the girly scallop edges of the Manolo Blahnik Erratic Mary Janes.

Subtle it is not.

Enjoying Leopard and Red

It finally hit some real summer heat here today and just now a huge thunderstorm has rolled through.

Because it was so warm (I had I just given myself a fresh pedicure with dark red polish), I slipped on a favorite pair of Jimmy Choo sandals from… oh…. 6 years ago? I paired this with dark red skirt and dark khaki top and jewelry in gold, opals and rubies.

I started thinking about how much I like this sometimes tricky combo.

Case in point – a winter version with a red sweater leopard skirt and red Rockstuds.

Then I was just browsing for pretty inspiration…

I have a vintage leopard coat.  I think I need some red pants to go with it.  I love the wellies combo too!

Hop To It

I am totally smitten with these Minna Parikka Pfeiffer heels.

They are show girl sexy with a bit of flirty thrown in.  Leopard print, curvy silhouette and heel, perky bunny ears.  They’re just delightful and on sale!

These adorable heels also come in fuchsia as well as a platform version in black, grey and lilac.

Can’t you just see these saucing up a pencil skirt??? I. Love. Them.

The New Adorable – RED Valentino

I received my new Saks Fall 2012 Catalog last night and on page 133, I saw the most adorable pair of black glitter t-straps.

Perfection!

Then I saw that they were from RED Valentino.  Of course we all know Valentino but I had not given their RED line a lot of awareness.  But I popped over to Saks to see the shoes online and was enchanted with the adorable heels!

I love the black pair, but how cute are the pink?

Then I found these candy-colored kiltie loafers with the soft bows.

Super sweet lace ballet flats in the perfect creamy pink. Very provocateur.

I’m not sure why I love these kitten heels with the candy pink edges and bows and abstract leopard print, but I do.

Sadly, most of these are not available in my size.  If they did I would be in serious trouble!  Now I have to run off to do a shoe search.

I really want those loafers and kitten heels!

Instant Access – 11/7 – 12/3

I swear once the year hits September, the days and weeks just fly by until the end of the year.  There is so much going on it feels like we need 3 extra weekends a month just to fit it in.

And the weather has been crazy here too.  From days in the 70s around Thanksgiving to rain to cold-cold-cold!  What’s going on.

Just from looking at all the recent shoes that happened these past weeks, you can see how all over the place the temperatures have been.

Manolo Blahnik Erratic mary janes with tonal fishnet tights…

The Aldo leopard slipper loafers came in from ASOS and were promptly worn.

I love these mustard tights, especially with warm brown.

Gossip girl inspired outfits and spat-style boots

Short-work-week Converse.

And a sneak peak at some early Resort/Spring Blahnik Sammys

Finally there was some tight-wearing weather so I got to wear these new dotted Hue tights.

But then it was warm enough for bringing out my easily 10-year-old Jimmy Choos.

I do love some of the details in my shoes, like these little cutouts on my Report pumps.

And as many shoe changes, there were almost as many new polishes combos to try.  From China Glaze’s It’s Alive (a wonderful dark green glitter)…

to Revlon’s Starry Pink over Revlon’s Metallic

Essie’s Forget Me Knot (which was worn with the ASOS heart sweater below and matched perfectly!) …

The coveted OPI Rainbow Connection

A perfect gray – OPI’s Concrete Catwalk

And another shimmery green in Zoya’s Edyta

I did get one day of wearing some fabulously tonal accessories.

And it’s the season of shopping to, so I may have bought a few things, like a new macro lens for my DSLR.

A few necessaries at Ulta

Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet matte lipsticks had to be mine.

Okay, so I went a bit overboard on the nail polish deals on Amazon.

My Express sparkly skirt was even more magical in person.  I’m in love!

Hearts and dots!

And TONS of baking!!!!

Apple oat muffins

Pumpkin Chocolate chip

Birthday surprise cake pops

And libations galore…

Cheers!

Looking for Leopard

Flats are slowly taking over my life and my wardrobe.  Not sure what’s happening here, but the cute stuff is happening in loafers and oxfords, sneakers and slippers.

I am currently trying to decide how to incorporate some sweet leopard flats (I only have a pair of leopard kitten heels) to carry me through Fall and Winter.

I’ve narrowed it down to 2 options, the first is this Aldo Buschur pair for $125 via ASOS.

The second pair is from River Island and are a bit more detailed and a less expensive at $53.91. Also from ASOS.

Which do you think???

Ensemble du Jour: 7-6-11

Yeah!  An outfit post!

I really need to try to find time to take these in the morning because, as you can see, the lighting in my house is “dim” to put it kindly. Dismal and cave-like would be more appropriate.

But, I was so happy with my outfit today I decided to take some shots anyways.  I made the mistake of going into Target last night and ended up with a bunch of stuff. Some of it needed, none of it pricey ($8 tanks, tees and yoga capris, yes please! $19 comfy cute dresses, okay! Robe so I stop scaring the neighbors, yep!) and perfect for wearing to work and on weekends.

The first thing I wanted to wear was this really cute stripey jersey tank dress. And then I saw the bright apple green 3/4 sleeve cardi.  I have to admit here that I am hopeless at mixing patters.  I love it on others, aspire to it and then fall into the trap of matchy-matchy all the time.  So here’s my happy little mixing outfit… I paired black and white stripes with a leopard belt and shoes.

WHOA!!!!

I know, I know, CRAZY TIME!!!!

This dress is so cute I got in solid red too.  Get ready for, wait for it… color-blocking!  Shut the font door!

It does have this nice little princess-seaming element.  Not a bad little detail for a less-than-$20 dress.

I’m loving the color/pattern combo.

For jewelry, I’m also mixing but more like matching – my Wendy Brandes “Chicken on Nest” necklace and my new “vegan” hen necklace from Julep115 via Etsy.

For shoes I wore my Coach (circa 2003-2004???) Tully leopard/oscelot kitten heels.
I do love a good kitten heel.

Grosgrain bows and heel detail.

I took a bunch more shots tonight so I have a lot to share over the next few days.
Onward into year five!

Ensemble du Jour: 3-4-11

Pros: More outfit posts. Cons: iPhone photo at night in full length mirror. Let’s just call this “arty”, shall we?

You can sort of see the important stuff – vintage faux leopard jacket from Shrimpton Couture, Rosalind Keep Trompe L’Oeil trench dress, leggings from Sock Dreams and Gap cap-toe ballet flats. The plexi and pearls bracelet is from Etsy.

This is shown as a dress but even at 5’3″ there is no way I’d wear this to work without leggings. Yikes!

All mobile pics, all the time around here. That’s quality!

Ensemble du Jour – 7-13-10

A few folks asked for an outfit shot when I mentioned what I was wearing with the YSL Tribute heels (yesterday’s Shoe of the Day), so here you go!

I was going to try and get an actual shot of me in the outfit but we had a monsoon here so I was stuck at work until late. But we needed the rain so I can’t complain too much.

The cardigan is from Target, the skirt is Michael Kors and the necklace is the Wendy Brandes Little Woolf necklace.

The shoes, of course, are the YSL Tributes…

The petal peep-toe.

I love the lamplight here.

And the contrast heels, which are a soft off-white.

I’d love to get a pair of the really high YSL Tribtoos but I don’t think they are still making the ones with the yellow soles. Hmmm…

Vintage Spots

This posted up on Shrimpton Couture and I nabbed it in about .5 seconds.

This plus a pair of vintage heels and a pencil skirt = LOVE!

And yes, I do think it will be coming with me to New York….

UPDATED: As I’m sure you all know, I would never ever ever wear fur ripped from an animal killed for my vanity. This is totally FAUX!!!
