Instant Access – 7/4 – 7/10

Last week was a great and short week.  Are those things mutually exclusive?  Probably not.  Must Venn diagram.

An impromptu trip to Asheville for lunch and truffles…

Ladylike nails…

Flower feet (a la Kate Spade circa 1998 or 1999?)

I discovered I have quite a collection of chicken jewelry.

We put on a bubble-blowing event for our city.

And whole bunch of new goodies to try out.

Secret project materials!

Movie Night was perfect!

But late nights mean morning snuggles.

Hope your short week was good too!

Instant Access – 6/20 – 7/3

I’ve been totally slack recapping the Instant Access!  I’m not going to put everything up but here are a few (mostly shoe) highlights-

The Prada flower heels from a few seasons ago are true works of art.

Inside too!

Bollywood bracelets for our June Backyard Movie Night playing Outsourced

And fennel seed candies give an Indian flair too.

Revlon’s Minted is a perfect cool pale green for hot days.

This is really the first time I’ve worn these amazing Stella McCartney diamonte wood-soled platforms.  They are actually comfortable!

Garden bounty of crooknecks.

My kitty isn’t sure what to make of my invisible chair.

The chair is a part of a secret project I hope to finish and share soon!

Meetings call for Chanel.

Monday Louboutins.

Fancy Friday – Manolo Blahnik “Something Blue”
Hope you had a wonderful 4th!

Instant Access – 6/13 – 6/19

I think my whole week was determined by my hair and my nails.  That sounds so bizarre to say but when you start off with messy pigtails…

… and graphic nails, everything seems to fall into place.

(I’m totally loving the Sally Hansen Nail Effects)

I got my favorite shoes back from the shoe repair.  Yeah!

Good advice

Daydreaming about a trip to India.

Soy Hot Cocoa and Ginger cookies at the local coffee bar

Dorothy curls

And ending the week with flower nails.
Hope you are having a great week!

Instant Access – 6/5 – 6/12

It was a good week for shoes

Don’t Polka-dots just say “Summer”

My favorite snack… freeze-dried corn

Ador-a-loafers ala Rachel Antonoff for Bass

I’m stocking up my liquor cabinet with vintage liquors.
St. Germain is made from hand-picked elderflowers

Stocking up!

Creme Yvette is made of violets.

I see a pitcher of Pimm’s in my future.

Prada stripes!

Then the week took a turn for the worse…

But ended with sparkly Manolos

A good rain is good for the garden.

And our first harvest… summer squash.
Have a great week!

Instant Access – 5/31 – 6/5

Maybe it was the sunburn from Monday, but I was in the mood to wear red all week.

Summer means strawberries.  I don’t wear these ShoeMissy Strawberry Patch shoes nearly enough.

But I did wear the heck out of my Knock-Out Karen matte red polish. It’s so classy, I love it.

Is it sad that one of the highlights of the week was a peanut butter sandwich?  It’s crazy but this stuff is awesome.

Sound Advice.

Snaps from the Shoe Cabinets – Miu Miu

And Stella McCartney Jupiter platforms (I need to wear these!)

I had to resist.  Sad Face.

Red polka dot espadrilles ARE Summer – These are American Eagle from Payless.

A pretty visitor on Saturday morning.

And, nerd that I am, I spent all day Sunday catching up on Doctor Who episodes.

While Clarence took a nap on one leg.
Hope you had a good week!

Instant Access – 5/23 – 5/30

This week started off so promising.

Gorgeous vintage pumps

and gorgeous vintage peep-toes

Playful kittens

and sleepy ones

Then I had to go to the feed store for 50lbs of chicken feed

And the work week ended like this… with no end to the problems in sight even today.

But I let it go with the help of some grilled cheese,

Nina Simone,

And kamakazi shots with my neighbors which somehow ended up having a fire show:

At least we had Monday off to have fun.  I went swimming with my Little Sister

and ended up with a bit of a sunburn.  So Summer is really here!
Hope you had a better week!

Instant Access – 5/16 – 5/22

It’s been a rough past week around here.  The husband was out of town so I was on patrol taking care of work, the house and all the animals.  Oh yeah, and my computer and back-up external drive all crashed. So I’m just now catching up!

Here’s an old series of Instant Access for you from Instagram.

Petticoats and YSL heels.

And a vintage hat.

Warm windowsills for kittens.

Dapper silk oxfords.

Spring rings from ModCoth

And then the bounty of the Farmer’s Market

One of my favorite tasks – making veggie stock!

All “stocked up”!

Hope you had a good week.  Now that I’m getting my life back in order, I’ll be better on updating… barring any other technological problems!

Travel Daydreams

Hello!  Slack blogger here!

Sorry I’ve been MIA here.  I’ve been in New York, running around and taking Instagrams.  Sadly my hotel’s wi-fi is kind of slow and not free (!!!) so I haven’t had a good opportunity to post.

I’d had my whole wardrobe planned for late spring weather, filled with florals and stripes.  Luckily, I brought my wellies and vintage red trench because I had to wear them almost every day.  It was chilly!

First stop: My favorite store, Bergdorfs!

I stopped by asap to see their McQueen windows in preparation of the exhibit at the Met
(more on that soon!)

Sermoneta has the prettiest gloves.

Louboutin Lucifers really called to me. Girly spikes!

I tried these on at Berdorfs and at the Louboutin store.  I ended up wearing a size 34.  That’s just crazy.  I can’t believe they even had that size.  Louboutins vary so widely in their sizing!

I got to see my lovely @Bergdorfs and she gave me some fun reading (best done with cupcakes)

I made a point to check out the Union Square Green Market where everything was gorgeous.  I had lunch in the park surrounded by the smell of lilacs.

Trimmings!

Bryant Park is prettier when not covered with fashion tents.

I ended the week at Chelsea Market.  Someday I hope to be shopping there more regularly.
More outfit and event posts to come but wish me safe travels home in this rain.

Instant Access – 4/25 – 5/1

Last week I said “what a week”.  I think that was a lie considering what we’ve all been through.

That said here are the details from my little Instant Access corner of the world.

Lots of color plus a new Spring favorite, Essie’s Borrowed and Blue.

Milkmaid braids!

Lupine is my new favorite color.

We had an afternoon tea party at the office to celebrate the Royal Wedding. So I wore roses.
And changed up to Essies Topless and Barefoot for mannequin hands that matched my Manolos.

On Friday, my friend Sonja came up with the brilliant idea to have a breakfast and Royal Wedding watching party.  So it was tiaras and cupcakes for breakfast.

What a spread!  Pink Champagne!

I got gifts too.  I’m a bit in love with my commemorative mug.

Saturday was a perfect day for my favorite antiques fair.

I swear this purse would go for $300 nowadays.  I should have bought it.

I did get this amazing wood purse plus two gorgeous hats I can’t wait to show you.

My neighbors got more baby chicks and Chickweed is smitten.

Of course, the week ended, late Sunday night, with momentous news.   Where will the world go tomorrow?

Instant Access – 4/18 – 4/24

What a week!  Work is crazy so I feel like I’ll I have time for is Instant Access Instagram pics!

I finally received my Knock-out nail polishes.  Aren’t the bottles pretty?  I got Flatte Black, Powder, Flatte Top and Karen.

I also found the lace and houndstooth Salon Effects.  I’m not sure which I want to try first!

I had to give the matte polish a try.  It’s thicker than regular polish so I need to get used to the application.  But I love it!

Can I just say that I love Libertine. Skulls and argyle go perfectly.

As do Manolos and hot pink toes. Aren’t these Suleys amazing.
Tested out the new Esprit d’Oscar perfume.

More fuchsia! This time with neon orange, polka-dots and bows a la JCrew.
We had Friday off which I spent doing nothing but watching movies like Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Plus it was rainy, so that’s my excuse.  On Saturday our neighbor, a local artist, hosted a art show.

Her chickens….

… which obviously inspire her art!

GPOY Saturday Night!
After rain Friday and Saturday, Sunday was gorgeous so I spent some of the morning outside with the flowers and the animals.

Jakey!

Meggie!

My goatsie girls.

Lemonade anyone?

We also got a new hammock.  So my plans for doing work flew right out the window. Jealous, anyone?

This was an even better way to end the week.
Hope your weekend was glorious!
