This Kind of Sums It Up

When the month started out with me having to dive head first into our giant trash can, I should have know the universe was not setting me up for a magical holiday season.

So far this month –

– I’ve been car sick for 48 hours straight
– Stuck with the dogs while the hubby was gone for 4 days during a ton of crummy weather
– Work horrors too many and varied to list

I’d say this weekend capped it off but with the month just being half over I’d think I was tempting fate by speaking too soon because –

– The kitten’s mysterious flesh eating disease may be coming back.
– I have more work horrors ahead of me this week
– I have to go to court for a ticket on Friday. The hope is that I’ll only have to pay more money than I’ve already paid.
– I left my computer at work to be updated and cleaned up on Saturday. Not only was it cleaned up, it was cleaned out! All the files I had on my laptop for work are now gone. In theory they are backed up to a drive but now that drive is inaccessible. Which means the proposal I was working on for a presentation on Wednesday morning is gone. GONE!

– And to cap it off, it is my month to be responsible for bringing lunch to our entire office which took almost all day for me and the hubby to make. On the way home from dropping off 4 pans of enchiladas and 2 things of cupcakes at my office for tomorrow, the fan belt in the car broke. So me, the hubby and one of the dogs were all stuck on the highway in the dark in the rain.

Suffice it to say, I have no good outfit pictures and I now demand that this month better improve and 2009 must be awesome to make up for it.

We’re Back!

Well, I’m back from NYC but still need to unpack, do my timesheets from last week (shhhh! Don’t tell!), oh yeah, and I have a 7:30a.m. meeting in the morning.

I promise to spill all the details from the Virgo Cupcake Extravaganza, champagne imbibing, Peepsie sightings and maybe a wee bit of shopping!

Tomorrow will be all about catching up!

Earth to Poochie. Come in, Poochie

Hi everyone!

I haven’t been abducted by aliens or under house arrest or anything the past few days, I’ve just been either running around or exhausted. That’s why it pays to jump on the Twitter bandwagon and follow me. Because I have to tell you, my life is totally that interesting!

Seriously!

Thursday night we went out for a belated B-day dinner with some friends. I got the cutest plaque as a gift which I now have to hang up on my closet door. I’ll take a pic of it as soon as it is up, but for now you will need to remain in suspense.

Then on Friday I was at a conference all day. How riveting was it? Does the fact that I was taking pics of my shoes under the table tell you anything?

I mean, they are cute, but it was a long day.

Then I had to go get another rabies shot at the hospital. Always a good time. And then I went to Target and Michaels.

Saturday I loafed around watching The 10th Kingdom all day when I should have been productive doing work (I blame all of this distraction on Wolf, if you know what I mean.), and then making cupcakes for our Backyard Movie Night.

Today the hubby woke me up with a delicious breakfast of eggs from our chickens, veggie sausage, toast, jam, hot tea and fresh pineapple. I caught up on all of the online world stuff I’d missed out on the past few days (darn you guys can Tweet!) and did all the dishes.

When we finally got our act together we went out to do the returns I needed to do and went on a multicultural spree.

I got two large bottles of green tea, pocky, poppadums, a tiffin tin to carry lunch, Indian snacks & Hello Kitty biscuits in chocolate and strawberry.

Now I need to get some work done before I can post some more! I’m so slack, I know!

Ready for a Recap?

It’s been a busy couple of days since I last posted up here.

I came home early on Thursday because one of the city papers wanted to interview me about the blog. The reporter came over after I got home from work and we had such a good time that we’re going to do a follow-up next week. Exciting!

Friday was actually pretty quiet. I took the day off from work and, after we got Napoleon taken care of for the morning, I watched movies in bed with the other pets. My hair stylist had an opening so she was able to fit me in for a cut and color. I got bangs! Long ones, since I haven’t had bangs in ages. They swoop over to the side, so we’ll see how I continue to feel about them.

After my appointment I had to go to the mall to return some shoes (I returned these – too uncomfortable, kept these – very comfortable, and am not sure if I’ll even get these). I exchanged my Old Navy skirt and got a smaller size in my Gap denim pencil skirt. I also got some new Clinique eyeshadows, a new bottle of my Origins Ginger perfume and a bottle of Estee Lauder Private Collection perfume (which I haven’t worn since college). I also found the perfect big boyfriend cardigan in black and grey stripes for which I have a few Fall outfits in mind. Oh yeah, and a few Godiva Key Lime Truffles.

When I got home my Pearl River order had arrived. Lots of fun Chinese fans and parasols and straw slippers (which are very comfy indeed!).

Yesterday we went to Asheville for the Bele Chere festival. If you follow me on Twitter (and I hope you do, so I can follow you as well!) I had lots of “at the moment” updates and Twitpics – you can always see the most recent down below on the right. We took lots of fun pics so I’m going to upload those to Flickr and will do a post asap!

Updates and Reminders

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to send you some updates on how Mr. Napoleon is doing. Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and good wishes. Here’s how he normally looks. As I mentioned, he lost almost all the feathers on his back and tail. Frankly, he’s a bit of a mess right now. If you want to see how he’s doing, you can click here.

But, he’s still alive and that’s what matters to us. Were working out a system to keep him calm and for giving him his shots and the meds. We decided to give him his pain shot in the morning so it calms him down during the day.

Yesterday, we had our webcam on him and I was able to peek at him throughout the day. He spent a lot of his time looking out from the porch over to the coop. When I got home I saw that the two girls were up next to the coop yard fence looking over at him. Sweeties! I know they miss each other but we have to keep him safe and clean right now. So they must be apart of a while more.

I also wanted to send a quick reminder that I’m still looking for your shoe story! The anniversary celebration is on through Sunday! So drop in a comment or send me an email at princesspoochie (at) shoedaydreams (dot) com.

Hello! Anyone Home?

So, I’ve been bad and slack about updating everyone on my New York trip. But I have good excuses, I promise.

1. I was staying with a friend and did not bring my computer, so all my “stuff” wasn’t available. I really needed to pack 6 pairs of shoes and about 9 outfits for a 3 night trip. So room was at a premium.

2. I started to feel a bit crummy on Friday and actually paid to fly back a few hours early. I got home and just crashed. I think it was staying up past 3am most nights but still getting up at 6-ish, plus way more food (and alcohol) than I was used.

3. We had to go to a wedding out of town yesterday. On Friday night and all day Saturday I was unpacking and doing the “Seasonal Switch” then I had to get ready for the wedding. We didn’t get home until late.

4. I actually didn’t take photos of my purchases yet. I need to do that RIGHT NOW so I can give you the complete download, which is up next.

Updates to follow asap!

Luv,
Poochie
